Emily & Asad | A Romantic Celebration at Dwarsberg Trout Hideaway

What a happy day it was for Emily & Asad – this radiant American bride and her dashing Australian groom – who chose to celebrate their love in the heart of South Africa!

From the very beginning, it was clear this wedding would be more than just a day – rather it became a week-long celebration with guests travelling from across the world to join them in Cape Town. As a result, the union unfolded as an unforgettable blend of love, culture, laughter, and joy, all wrapped in the breathtaking beauty of the Cape mountains. Truly it doesn’t get any better than this.

For me, (a|WEDDING by Tatum), it was such a joy to walk this journey alongside them and to witness their vision come to life in the most spectacular way!

The Wedding Weekend

To start, guests arrived from far and wide, making this much more than a wedding – it became a destination celebration. In the days leading up to the big moment, they enjoyed vineyard visits, Cape Town explorations, and relaxed evenings together. Consequently, every moment became an opportunity to create memories not just for the couple, but also for the people they love most.

By the time the wedding day finally arrived at the oh-so-beautiful Dwarsberg Trout Hideaway, there was already a joyful spirit of celebration in the air.

The Ceremony

Then came the ceremony. Set against the dramatic yet absolutely mesmerising mountain backdrop of Dwarsberg, Emily & Asad exchanged vows surrounded by the soft sounds of the breeze and the joyful cheers of their guests. The aisle was lined with loved ones from across the globe, and soon the celebrations erupted as the newlyweds made their first official walk back down as husband and wife – confetti flying, flowers in hand, and the happiest of smiles lighting up Dwarsberg Trout Hideaway.

The Reception

Afterward, the reception unfolded as a true picture of modern romance. Under a canopy of twinkling fairy lights and sparkling disco balls, guests were welcomed into a celebration that was both stylish and relaxed – essentially, a Pinterest vision board come to life.

Moreover, the tables were draped in soft, neutral linens and adorned with vibrant floral arrangements from @kweekstudio. Seasonal textures and pastel hues mixed beautifully with playful pops of colour. Every detail was elegant yet full of personality, and by now you should definitely know that I simply LOVE a colourful moment!

The Party

Once the formalities came to an end, the night quickly transformed into the ULTIMATE festivities. Guests filled the dance floor, glow sticks in hand, and the energy was absolutely electric. Thanks to @myohmyentertainment, @hey_mamela, and @marndebluum, the music kept spirits soaring, ensuring no one could resist dancing under the stars (and disco balls, of course!).

In the end, it was the perfect conclusion to an already unforgettable day – the kind of celebration where love, joy, and togetherness became the heartbeat of the night.
