Real Wedding | Heather & Dean’s Whimsical Celebration at Johannesdal 1207

Flowers, flowers, flowers everywhere – this was the dreamy, joy-filled celebration of Heather & Dean at the magical Johannesdal 1207, tucked away in the breathtaking Helshoogte Pass of Stellenbosch, South Africa.

This wedding was a true explosion of fun, colour, and unforgettable energy – a perfect reflection of the vibrant couple it was all about. From our very first meeting, Heather and Dean were clear: this day had to feel magical, heartfelt, and full of life. And that’s exactly what we created…together!

The Venue: A Floral Fantasy at Johannesdal

If you’ve never been to Johannesdal 1207, add it to your dream wedding venue list immediately. This Stellenbosch venue is an architectural and natural GEM! Lush gardens, dramatic mountain views, and artistic charm everywhere you look. It offered the perfect canvas for the flower-forward, colour-rich wedding we envisioned.

Let’s Talk Flowers (and More Flowers!)

When I say there were flowers everywhere – I mean it. The insanely talented team at OKASIE completely transformed the venue into a whimsical garden wonderland. From bold blooms to delicate details, every arrangement was layered with thought, colour and texture. We even brought in paper florals by @miabellapaper for an extra touch of magic.

The styling blended structured elegance with wild, romantic flourishes. We used a combination of furniture and decor from OKASIE, Wilgenhof Estate, and In and Out Events to create a layered, immersive setting that kept guests enchanted from beginning to end.

All the Vibes: Entertainment from Start to Finish

Heather & Dean wanted their guests entertained all day long, and wow – did the entertainment lineup deliver!

• Acoustic Element set the tone with smooth live performances during pre-ceremony and canapé hour.
• Me and Mr Green brought the house down with an electrifying live band set during the reception.
• Then DJ Marn de Bluum wrapped it all up with a high-energy afterparty in the Blue Room…and no one wanted to leave!

The Food: Absolute Perfection

Let’s take a moment to talk about the food. Chef Ollie and his team at Annalize Catering outdid themselves! Every single bite was mouth-watering. The menu was playful, luxurious and oh-so-delicious, and the presentation? Perfection.

Pair that with a beautifully run bar and staffing team by Joshua Mutsimhu, and you’ve got a celebration that tasted as good as it looked.

What Made This Day So Special

Besides the jaw-dropping styling, heartfelt ceremony, and next-level entertainment… it was Heather and Dean’s spirit that made this wedding truly unforgettable. They brought such joy and love to the planning process and I’m beyond grateful to have been part of it.
